Of the tools on this list, the best AI for business on our scores is ChatGPT Business. Claude Team matches it on both score and price, at $20 a seat a month billed yearly or $25 monthly. So ChatGPT ranks first only on our tie-break. For many companies, though, the cheaper answer already sits in their office suite. Gemini comes with Google Workspace Business Standard, and Microsoft sells Copilot Business as an add-on to Microsoft 365.
Each business plan here states that it keeps company data out of model training by default. For Grok, however, that comes from guides rather than its own pages. So the choice turns on three things: your suite, the seat price, and what the entry plan leaves for enterprise contracts. The sections below explain the order, then give each plan’s price, strengths and catch.
Best AI for Business: The Short Answer
If your company runs on Google Workspace, start with Gemini. Business Standard already includes it in Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive and Meet, at a reported $14 a user a month billed yearly. If it runs on Microsoft 365, Copilot Business adds Copilot to Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams instead. It costs $21 a user a month billed yearly, and existing customers pay $18 in the first year if they start by December 31, 2026.
If you use both suites, or neither, ChatGPT Business and Claude Team are the best AI for business on this list. Both connect to Microsoft 365 and Google Drive, and both include an agent for code. Both also add single sign-on to the entry business plan.

How We Ordered the Best AI for Business
This list of the best AI for business follows our review scores first. Those are the same scores behind our list of the best AI tools. Ties then go to the lower yearly price of the business seat you would actually buy. If that ties too, the main list decides, which is why ChatGPT sits above Claude.
However, our scores rate each assistant as we reviewed it. A business plan mainly changes the data terms, the admin tools and the price. So we keep the scores and say where the business plan differs. Still, the suite your company already uses matters more than a tenth of a point, and a later section matches plans to companies.
⚠️ DeepSeek is not on this list, because we found no business plan for its app. Its privacy policy says the consumer app stores data in China and trains on it unless you opt out. Instead, companies that want its models run the open weights on their own servers or use the API. Our DeepSeek review covers both options, too.

1. ChatGPT Business: The Widest Feature Set at $20 a Seat
ChatGPT Business costs $20 a user a month billed yearly or $25 monthly, from two users. That comes from OpenAI’s business pricing page, read on October 2, 2026. Each seat also includes Codex for code, deep research, and connectors to Microsoft 365, Google Drive, Slack and GitHub. It also adds extensions for Excel, PowerPoint and Google Sheets. In addition, OpenAI lists SAML SSO, SOC 2 Type 2 and no training on business data by default. Our guide to using AI for competitive research also sets out six steps and ethical rules.
The catch: SCIM provisioning, role-based access, data residency and ISO certifications sit only on Enterprise, which has no published price. Business also gives its instant model a 54K context window, against 128K on Enterprise. Premium seats at $100 a user a month billed yearly add more usage, according to OpenAI’s help center. Our ChatGPT review also covers the individual plans.
2. Claude Team: Same Price, No Published Message Counts
Claude Team costs $20 a seat a month billed yearly or $25 monthly for a Standard seat, for teams of two to 150. Those figures come from Anthropic’s pricing page, read on October 2, 2026. Every seat also includes Claude Code, the Microsoft 365 and Outlook add-ins, enterprise search across connected tools, and SSO. Anthropic also states that it does not train on Team content by default. Its models reach up to 1M tokens of context, depending on the model.
The catch: Anthropic publishes no message counts. Instead, usage runs on rolling five-hour sessions with weekly caps. A Premium seat at $100 a month billed yearly, however, buys five times a Standard seat’s usage. SCIM, audit logs and custom retention need Enterprise, which costs $20 a seat a month plus usage at API rates. Our Claude review covers those limits in more detail, too.
3. Gemini in Google Workspace: Included With Business Standard
Google bundles Gemini into Workspace rather than selling it per seat. Business Standard puts Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Meet and Chat, according to Google’s plan comparison read on October 2, 2026. It also gives expanded access to the Gemini app and Gemini Notebook. Google’s page did not display amounts, so we rely on pricing guides: $14 a user a month on a yearly plan, or $16.80 flexible.
Google’s privacy hub says Workspace content does not train AI models outside your domain without permission. The catch: Business Starter, at a reported $7, includes Gemini only in Gmail and Vids among the Workspace apps. Also, all Business plans stop at 300 users. Moreover, in the EBU and BBC study of October 2025, 76% of Gemini’s news answers had a significant issue. Our Gemini review also weighs that record.
4. Perplexity Enterprise Pro: Cited Research at a Higher Seat Price
Perplexity Enterprise Pro costs $40 a seat a month or $400 a year, according to its help center, read on September 30, 2026. In addition, it adds SSO and a commitment not to train on enterprise data to the cited answers Perplexity is known for. In the EBU and BBC study of October 2025, 30% of its news answers had a significant issue. That was the lowest of the four assistants tested, as our list of the best AI for research sets out.
The catch: a seat costs $400 a year, against $240 for a ChatGPT or Claude seat billed yearly. SCIM, audit logs and retention settings are not part of the standard seat. Guides also reported in August 2026 that they now require a contract. Our sources also document no add-in for Word or Google Docs, so drafting happens elsewhere. Our Perplexity review also covers its plans for individuals.
5. Microsoft 365 Copilot Business: The Add-On for Microsoft Shops
Microsoft 365 Copilot Business costs $21 a user a month paid yearly or $25.20 monthly, for up to 300 users. That is according to Microsoft’s page, read on October 2, 2026. Existing customers pay $18 for the first year on annual plans started between July 1 and December 31, 2026. It puts Copilot into Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, with the Researcher and Analyst agents. Microsoft also states that prompts do not train its models.
The catch: it needs a qualifying Microsoft 365 plan underneath, and Copilot in Teams needs a Teams license. Microsoft therefore sells Business Standard with Copilot as a bundle, at $23.50 a user a month paid yearly. Our Microsoft Copilot review scores the assistant itself, and our guide to Microsoft Copilot for productivity covers it in more depth.
6. Grok Business: $30 a Seat, Fewer Published Details
Grok Business costs $30 a seat a month or $300 a year, according to Justin McKelvey’s reading of grok.com on September 27, 2026. That is because the page itself blocks automated reading. Guides describe admin controls, central billing and no training on business data. However, we found no official page listing its SSO, retention or compliance terms.
Prices may also change soon. Bloomberg reported on September 30, 2026 that SpaceXAI is considering a single Grok and X subscription. Until then, our Grok review covers the assistant and its ownership.
Which One for Which Business
A company on Google Workspace should start with Gemini, since Business Standard already includes it. Then it can add ChatGPT or Claude seats only for the people who need more. By contrast, a company on Microsoft 365 should start with Copilot Business, because it works inside the mail and files it already has. Our ChatGPT vs Copy.ai comparison covers which fits which job.
Mixed or suite-free teams get more from ChatGPT Business or Claude Team, which both connect to Microsoft 365 and Google Drive. Teams that research with sources, such as analysts, can add Perplexity Enterprise Pro seats. For developers, both include a coding agent, and our comparison of ChatGPT and Claude weighs the two head to head.

What the Entry Plans Leave Out
Every entry business plan here leaves some admin tools for enterprise contracts. ChatGPT Business has no SCIM or data residency, and Claude Team has no SCIM or audit logs. Perplexity also keeps SCIM and audit logs off the standard seat. Meanwhile, Google keeps data regions for Enterprise, and Microsoft caps its Business suites at 300 users. As for Grok, the pages guides read list no such details.
SCIM removes a departing employee’s access automatically, while audit logs record who did what. So if your auditors ask for either, budget for an enterprise plan from the start.
⚠️ Seat prices are also only part of the bill. Copilot Business needs a Microsoft 365 license underneath, and Claude Enterprise adds usage at API rates on top of $20 a seat. Heavy users on any plan still hit usage caps that a cheaper seat does not lift. Our full AI pricing comparison lists the individual plans side by side.

How We Research
Prices and plan features come from each company’s own pages, read on October 2, 2026. For example, we read OpenAI’s business pricing page, Anthropic’s pricing page and Microsoft’s Copilot page, plus Google’s plan comparison. Perplexity’s prices come from its help center, read on September 30, 2026.
Google’s page did not display amounts, so Workspace prices follow pricing guides. Likewise, Grok Business prices come from a reading of grok.com dated September 27, 2026. Data-training terms come from each company’s business privacy pages, and sourcing figures from the EBU and BBC study of October 2025.
We run no tests of our own and buy no seats for this list. Our about page explains how we score and source.
