What Each One Does
First, Copy.ai’s Chat plan gives a team shared access to models from several labs, with Brand Voice and Infobase for style and company facts. Its Agents plan, moreover, adds workflows for sales and marketing tasks.
Rytr, on the other hand, works through more than 40 templates, for example for ads, emails and product descriptions. Paid plans, moreover, add a plagiarism checker powered by Copyscape and tone matching from a writing sample.
Prices
For one person, Rytr is far cheaper: Unlimited costs $9 monthly or $90 a year, and Premium $29 or $290 a year. Its free plan, in addition, covers light use.
For five people, however, Copy.ai Chat at $29 a month undercuts five separate Rytr Unlimited accounts. Agents, meanwhile, costs $249 a month for ten seats. Our list of the cheapest useful AI tools compares other budget options.

Data and Training
However, neither company has confirmed its training rule in sources we could read. Trackers, for example, disagree on whether Copy.ai trains on customer content, so email privacy@copy.ai to opt out before you paste confidential work.
Rytr’s policy summaries also disagree, though its pricing page says you own what you generate. Our guide to which AI tools train on your data covers both, and our list of the best AI tools for privacy covers stricter options.
Evidence
On evidence, however, neither tool has an independent test of its output. Copy.ai, for example, names its model providers, so its writing traces back to known models, while Rytr does not.
Our guide to AI benchmarks explained explains why named, tested models are easier to trust.
Who Owns Each
First, Fullcast, a revenue-operations company, acquired Copy.ai on October 15, 2025 and is folding it into a sales platform. Rytr, however, is run by Rytr LLC, a Delaware company launched in 2021. Our guide to who owns which AI tool tracks both.
