The best Copy.ai alternatives, in our order, are Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot, followed by four writing specialists: Rytr, Writesonic, Anyword and Jasper. We rank them, moreover, by their scores in our reviews.
Copy.ai scores 3.0 in our Copy.ai review. Since Fullcast bought it in October 2025, however, it has turned toward sales workflows, dropped its free plan, and left its training rules unconfirmed. Each entry below names what the alternative does better and what you give up.
Best Copy.ai Alternatives: The Short Answer
Among the best Copy.ai alternatives on this list, Claude ranks first: it ties on our top review score of 3.6, and its Opus 5.5 led Arena’s creative-writing board on September 25, 2026. ChatGPT, meanwhile, follows with the widest feature set. Our Claude vs Copy.ai comparison also weighs price and data terms.
For teams, Claude Team and ChatGPT Business both skip training by default. Copy.ai Chat, however, remains cheaper at $29 a month for five seats, so leaving costs more for small teams.

How We Ordered These Copy.ai Alternatives
This list of the best Copy.ai alternatives follows our review scores, highest first. Where scores tie, Arena’s creative-writing board decides, as in our list of Jasper alternatives, because Copy.ai began as a writing tool.
So Claude, first on that board, sits above ChatGPT. Rytr and Writesonic, however, have no Arena entries, so the lower paid entry price breaks their tie, and Rytr goes first. Our Copy.ai vs Rytr comparison also weighs seats and price.
Why People Leave Copy.ai
First, Fullcast, a revenue-operations company, is folding Copy.ai into a sales platform, and its help center has moved there. Second, the free plan is gone, and trackers disagree on whether Copy.ai trains on customer content.
On the other hand, Copy.ai Chat still gives five seats shared access to OpenAI, Anthropic and Google models for $29 a month. That, however, is hard to beat for a small team.
1. Claude: Top of the Creative-Writing Board
Claude Pro, for example, costs $20 a month or $200 a year and shows no ads. Its Opus 5.5 led Arena’s creative-writing board, and Claude Team, at $25 a seat monthly or $20 yearly, skips training by default.
What you give up, though: five Team seats cost far more than Copy.ai Chat. Our Claude for writing guide covers the setup.
2. ChatGPT: The Widest Feature Set
First, Plus costs $20, and Go costs $8 in the US. It also adds deep research, images, Codex and add-ins for Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
What you give up, however: Free and Go show ads in test regions, and personal plans train by default. Our ChatGPT for marketing guide covers its marketing use.
3. Gemini: Cheapest Entry for Google Users
Google AI Plus, meanwhile, costs $4.99 a month, and Google AI Pro brings Gemini into Gmail and Docs for $19.99. As a result, it suits teams already on Google Workspace, as our guide to Gemini for Google Workspace explains.
What you give up, though: Gemini trails on the writing board and on news accuracy.
4. Microsoft Copilot: Writing Inside Word
Microsoft 365 Personal, in turn, costs $9.99 a month and brings Copilot into Word and Outlook. Therefore, it suits teams that draft mostly in Office.
What you give up, however: the free app shows ads, and we could not confirm its training rule. Our Microsoft Copilot review covers the details.
5. Rytr: The Budget Specialist
Rytr, for its part, has a free plan with 10,000 characters a month, and Unlimited costs $7.50 a month billed yearly. Its templates also suit short marketing copy, much like Copy.ai’s early product.
What you give up, though: Rytr names no models and its training rules are unconfirmed, as our Rytr review explains.
6. Writesonic: AI Visibility Instead
Writesonic, however, now tracks how AI assistants mention your brand, and its privacy policy rules out training on customer data. Starter costs $79 a month billed yearly.
What you give up, however: it is no longer mainly a writer, and Starter bills $948 a year. Our Copy.ai vs Writesonic comparison covers both.
7. Anyword: Scored Marketing Variants
Anyword, meanwhile, scores ad, email and landing-page variants before you test them, from $39 a month billed yearly. It therefore suits performance marketers who run many variants.
What you give up, though: its accuracy claims have no published method. Our Copy.ai vs Anyword comparison weighs both.
8. Jasper: Brand Governance
Finally, Jasper Pro costs $69 a seat monthly or $59 yearly, with brand voice, style rules and marketing agents. It also suits large brand teams.
What you give up, however: its Pro terms use your content to develop its models. Our Jasper vs Copy.ai comparison covers the trade-off.
Which Alternative for Which Reason
For writing quality and no ads, take Claude, and for breadth, ChatGPT. For the lowest price, by contrast, take Rytr or Gemini, and for a team on Google or Microsoft, Gemini or Copilot. Our Jasper vs Rytr comparison also covers data terms.
If cheap shared chat for five people is why you chose Copy.ai, though, consider staying and opting out of training by email. Our guide to which AI tools train on your data covers each default.

Team Costs Compared
For five people, for example, Copy.ai Chat costs $29 a month. Claude Team and ChatGPT Business, by contrast, cost $20 to $25 a seat, so five seats cost several times more.
The specialists, however, vary widely: Rytr Premium adds seats for $19 each, while Anyword Data-Driven covers three seats for $79 billed yearly. Our breakdown of AI tool costs adds up a year of each.

How We Research
This list draws on our reviews of each tool and our Copy.ai comparisons, each read against the company’s own pricing, help and privacy pages between August and October 2, 2026. Writing ranks come from Arena.
We run no tests of our own, and our about page explains the criteria.
Best Copy.ai Alternatives FAQ
On this list, Claude ranks first: it ties on our top score of 3.6, and its Opus 5.5 led Arena’s creative-writing board on September 25, 2026.
For one person, yes: Rytr Unlimited costs $7.50 a month and Google AI Plus $4.99. For five people, Copy.ai Chat at $29 a month is hard to beat.
Fullcast is folding it into a sales platform, the free plan is gone, and its training rules are unconfirmed.
Writesonic’s policy rules out training, and Claude Team and ChatGPT Business skip training by default.
For large brand teams, possibly. Jasper costs $59 to $69 a seat, though, and its Pro terms use your content to develop its models.
The Verdict
The best Copy.ai alternatives trade a cheap shared seat for stronger writing, clearer terms or a different focus. Claude and ChatGPT lead, Rytr is cheapest, and Writesonic has the strictest data terms.
Copy.ai, however, still offers five seats for $29. So leave for writing quality or data terms, and stay if price per seat matters most.
