The best Writesonic alternatives for writing, in our order, are Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot, followed by four specialists: Rytr, Copy.ai, Anyword and Jasper. We rank them, moreover, by their scores in our reviews.

Writesonic scores 3.0 in our Writesonic review. It has turned from an AI writer into an AI search visibility platform, and its cheapest plan now bills $948 a year. However, its privacy policy rules out training on customer data, which few alternatives match.

Best Writesonic Alternatives: The Short Answer

Among the best Writesonic alternatives on this list, Claude ranks first: it ties on our top review score of 3.6, and its Opus 5.5 led Arena’s creative-writing board on September 25, 2026. ChatGPT, meanwhile, follows with the widest feature set. Our Writesonic vs Anyword comparison also covers data terms.

If you came to Writesonic for cheap drafting, Rytr costs $7.50 a month billed yearly. If you need AI search visibility tracking, though, none of the tools we review does that, so Writesonic may still be the right fit.

How We Ordered These Writesonic Alternatives

This list of the best Writesonic alternatives follows our review scores, highest first. Where scores tie, Arena’s creative-writing board decides, as in our list of Copy.ai alternatives, because most readers want a writer.

So Claude, first on that board, sits above ChatGPT. Rytr and Copy.ai, however, have no Arena entries, so the lower paid entry price breaks their tie, and Rytr goes first.

Why People Leave Writesonic

First, Writesonic now sells AI search visibility, so its AI Article Writer is a side feature. Second, Starter bills $948 a year upfront and tracks only ChatGPT, and the full set of ten AI platforms needs Enterprise.

On the other hand, leaving has a cost. Writesonic’s privacy policy rules out training on customer data, including trials, and it is SOC 2 Type 2 audited.

1. Claude: Top of the Creative-Writing Board

Claude Pro, for example, costs $20 a month or $200 a year and shows no ads. Its Opus 5.5 led Arena’s creative-writing board, and Claude Team skips training by default.

What you give up, though: Claude’s personal plans train unless you turn that off, and it does not track AI search visibility. Our Claude for writing guide covers the setup, and our Claude review covers its plans.

2. ChatGPT: The Widest Feature Set

ChatGPT Go costs $8 in the US and Plus $20. It also adds deep research, images, Codex and add-ins for Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

What you give up, however: Free and Go show ads in test regions, and personal plans train by default. Our ChatGPT for SEO guide covers its search-content use.

3. Gemini: Cheapest Entry for Google Users

Google AI Plus costs $4.99 a month, and Google AI Pro brings Gemini into Gmail and Docs for $19.99. As a result, it suits writers already in Google Workspace.

What you give up, though: Gemini trails on the writing board and on news accuracy. Our guide to Gemini for Google Workspace covers its setup.

4. Microsoft Copilot: Writing Inside Word

Microsoft 365 Personal costs $9.99 a month and brings Copilot into Word and Outlook. Therefore, it suits writers who draft mostly in Office.

What you give up, however: the free app shows ads, and we could not confirm its training rule. Our Microsoft Copilot review covers the details.

5. Rytr: The Budget Writer

Rytr, for its part, has a free plan with 10,000 characters a month, and Unlimited costs $7.50 a month billed yearly. Its templates also suit short marketing copy, much like Writesonic’s early product.

What you give up, though: Rytr names no models, and its training rules are unconfirmed, as our Rytr review explains.

6. Copy.ai: Shared Chat for Small Teams

Copy.ai Chat gives five seats access to OpenAI, Anthropic and Google models for $29 a month. It therefore suits small teams on a budget.

What you give up, however: Fullcast is folding it into a sales platform, and its training terms are unconfirmed. Our Copy.ai vs Writesonic comparison covers both.

7. Anyword: Scored Marketing Variants

Anyword, meanwhile, scores ad, email and landing-page variants before you test them, from $39 a month billed yearly.

What you give up, though: its accuracy claims have no published method, as our Anyword review explains.

8. Jasper: Brand Governance

Finally, Jasper Pro costs $69 a seat monthly or $59 yearly, with brand voice, style rules and marketing agents.

What you give up, however: its Pro terms use your content to develop its models. Our Jasper vs Writesonic comparison covers the trade-off.

If You Need AI Search Visibility

Writesonic’s core product today tracks how ChatGPT, Gemini and other assistants mention your brand. None of the tools on this list does that, and we have not yet reviewed other visibility trackers.

So if tracking is your need, compare Writesonic’s plans before leaving. Our list of the best AI for SEO covers the general assistants for SEO work.

Which Alternative for Which Reason

Writers who want quality and no ads should take Claude, and those who want breadth, ChatGPT. Rytr or Gemini, by contrast, cost the least.

A small team, meanwhile, may prefer Copy.ai, and a brand team Jasper. If AI search tracking is why you chose Writesonic, though, staying may be right.

We run no tests of our own, and our about page explains the criteria.
