Copy.ai vs Writesonic compares two former AI copywriters that have moved in different directions. Copy.ai, now owned by Fullcast, for example, sells cheap shared chat and workflows for sales and marketing teams. Writesonic, by contrast, sells AI search visibility: tracking and improving how AI assistants mention your brand.
Our reviews score both 3.0, as our Copy.ai review and Writesonic review explain. Therefore, the choice depends on the job, and on how much the data terms matter to you.
Copy.ai vs Writesonic: The Short Answer
Choose Copy.ai, first, if a small team wants several frontier models in one shared workspace for little money. Its Chat plan costs $29 a month for five seats, with models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google. Our Copy.ai vs Anyword comparison also weighs team chat against predictive scores.
Choose Writesonic instead if you need to know whether ChatGPT and other assistants recommend your brand. It also has clearer data terms, however: its privacy policy rules out training on customer data, while Copy.ai’s terms remain unconfirmed.

What Each One Does
First, Copy.ai’s Chat plan gives a team shared access to models from several labs, with Brand Voice and Infobase for style and company facts. Its Agents plan, meanwhile, also adds workflows on credits for sales and marketing tasks.
Writesonic, on the other hand, runs your prompts across AI platforms every day and reports visibility, citations and sentiment. Its Action Center also ranks fixes, and its agents draft content and outreach to sites that cite competitors.
Prices and Seats
For a small team, therefore, Copy.ai is far cheaper: Chat costs $29 a month for five seats, or $24 billed yearly. Agents, however, costs $249 a month for ten seats with 10,000 workflow credits.
Writesonic Starter, by contrast, costs $99 monthly or $79 billed yearly for one user, and tracks ChatGPT only. Basic, at $199 billed yearly, covers two users and adds Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Our breakdown of AI tool costs compares both with general assistants.

Data and Training
On data, Writesonic’s privacy policy, updated May 13, 2026, says it does not use customer data, including trial data, to train any general-purpose model. It also deletes customer data within 30 days of account deletion and is SOC 2 Type 2 audited.
Copy.ai’s terms, however, remain unconfirmed. Trackers disagree on whether it trains on customer content; therefore, email privacy@copy.ai to opt out before you paste confidential work. Our guide to which AI tools train on your data covers both.
Ownership and Direction
First, Fullcast, a Salt Lake City revenue-operations company, acquired Copy.ai on October 15, 2025, and is folding its features into a revenue platform. Copy.ai’s free plan, moreover, is gone, and its help center moved to Fullcast.
Writesonic, by contrast, remains an independent San Francisco company founded by Samanyou Garg. Our guide to who owns which AI tool tracks both.
Evidence
On evidence, however, neither tool has an independent test of its output. Both, however, also name their model providers, so their writing quality traces back to known models.
Writesonic’s visibility figures, in addition, are its own measurements of AI answers that vary by prompt and day. Treat them as a direction, as our guide to AI benchmarks explained suggests.
Winners by Category
In short, Copy.ai wins on price per seat and on shared multi-model chat for a small team. It also suits sales workflows better, given its new owner, as our list of the best AI for marketing notes.
Writesonic, on the other hand, wins on AI search visibility, data terms and independence. Our scores are level at 3.0, so in Copy.ai vs Writesonic the job you need done should decide. Our list of Writesonic alternatives also covers what none of them replaces.
Which One to Choose
Take Copy.ai if a small team wants shared chat with several models on a tight budget, after opting out of training by email. By contrast, take Writesonic if you need to track and improve how AI assistants mention your brand.
For drafting alone, however, a $20 general assistant often does more, as our list of the best AI for writing shows. Our guide to ChatGPT for marketing covers that route.
