This Fireflies.ai review covers an AI notetaker that joins Zoom, Google Meet and Teams calls, transcribes them, and sends summaries to your CRM and other apps. Every plan, for example, includes unlimited transcription; storage and AI credits set the limits instead.
Fireflies says it never trains AI on your meeting content. However, a 2025 class action in Illinois alleges that its speaker recognition collects voiceprints without the written consent state law requires.
Fireflies.ai Review: Is It Worth It in 2026?
For sales and customer teams that want meeting notes in their CRM, yes. Pro also costs $10 a seat a month billed yearly.
For meetings with outsiders in states with biometric laws, check consent first. Our guide to which AI tools train on your data compares data rules.
What Fireflies.ai Does
First, its bot joins calls from your calendar, transcribes them and labels speakers. It then writes summaries and action items, and its AskFred assistant answers questions about past meetings.
Paid plans, moreover, push notes to CRMs such as Salesforce and HubSpot. Business adds conversation intelligence and team analytics.

What Fireflies.ai Costs
In addition, Fireflies sells four plans per seat, as trackers read its pricing page between April and September 2026.
| Plan | Price | Storage and AI credits |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Unlimited transcription; 400 minutes stored per team; 20 credits |
| Pro | $18/mo, or $10 yearly | 8,000 minutes per seat; 20 credits |
| Business | $29/mo, or $19 yearly | Unlimited storage; 30 credits; analytics |
| Enterprise | $39, yearly only | Unlimited storage; 50 credits; SSO, HIPAA |
Two limits matter. Storage is a total cap, not a monthly one, and AI credits are shared across the workspace rather than per seat, guides citing Fireflies’ help articles report. Our breakdown of AI tool costs adds up a year.
Basic summaries stay unlimited, while advanced features, however, draw on credits. Our list of the cheapest useful AI tools compares other low-cost plans.

Accuracy
We found no recent independent test of Fireflies’ transcription accuracy. Accents, crosstalk and jargon, therefore, can still produce errors, and summaries can miss nuance.
Therefore, check names, numbers and decisions against the recording. Our guide to fact-checking AI output covers the routine.
Your Data
Fireflies says it never uses meeting audio, transcripts or summaries to train AI, internally or externally. It also enforces zero data retention with its AI vendors and holds a SOC 2 Type II report, its help center says.
That is, for example, a clear contrast with Otter, which trains on de-identified recordings, as our Otter.ai review covers. Our list of the best AI tools for privacy covers stricter tools.
The Biometric Lawsuit
In December 2025, a putative class action, Cruz v. Fireflies.AI Corp., was filed in federal court in Illinois. It alleges that speaker recognition created voiceprints of a participant who never signed up, without written consent.
The case is at an early stage, and whether Fireflies collects biometric data remains to be decided. Meanwhile, tell participants when a notetaker records, and check local consent laws.

Fireflies vs Otter and Assistants
Otter, for example, is cheaper per minute on Pro but trains on recordings and faces its own consent litigation. Microsoft Copilot, by contrast, summarizes Teams meetings for Microsoft 365 users, as our Microsoft Copilot for productivity guide covers. Our Otter vs Fireflies comparison also weighs price and data terms.
General assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude, however, summarize pasted transcripts but do not join calls, as our ChatGPT review and Claude review cover.

Who Should Use Fireflies.ai
Overall, this Fireflies.ai review finds it suits sales, success and recruiting teams that live in a CRM. It also suits anyone who wants strict no-training terms.
By contrast, however, it suits heavy users of advanced AI features less, since credits are small. Our list of the best AI for business covers team tools, and our list of the best AI for productivity covers wider options.

Unlimited transcription, strict no-training terms
