Best v0 Alternatives (2026): Six Options, Ranked

The best v0 alternatives on this list start with three prompt-to-app builders: Lovable, Bolt.new and Replit. Coding agents for developers, Claude Code, ChatGPT’s Codex and Cursor, follow.

v0 scores 3.0 in our v0 review. It turns prompts into React interfaces and deploys to Vercel. However, new paid users start on Team at $30 a user, and credits make costs hard to predict.

Best v0 Alternatives: The Short Answer

Among the best v0 alternatives here, Lovable ranks first: it builds full apps with a database and sign-in, and Pro costs $25 a month for credits shared by unlimited collaborators. Our v0 vs Lovable comparison covers which fits which job.

Bolt.new, meanwhile, builds full-stack apps in your browser from $25, and Replit adds a real editor from $20. For developers with existing code, however, Claude Code leads the September agent index.

How We Ordered This List

v0 builds apps from prompts, so other prompt-to-app builders come first. Within each group, our review scores decide, and ties go to the lower paid entry price, as in our list of the best AI app builders.

The three coding agents, however, tie at 3.6. So Claude Code, about $17 a month yearly, goes first, and Codex’s index score of 63 breaks the tie with Cursor, which has no September entry.

Why People Leave v0

First, the $20 Premium plan closed to new users, so paid use starts at $30 a user on Team. Second, credits track tokens, so complex prompts cost more.

On the other hand, leaving has a cost: v0’s React focus and one-click Vercel deploys are hard to match. Its data terms, moreover, favor Business plans, a guide reports. Our guide to which AI tools train on your data compares other tools.

Why people leave v0 and what they give up: Vercel deploys and React focus

1. Lovable: Full Apps for Non-Coders

First, Lovable builds apps with a database, sign-in and hosting, and every plan allows unlimited collaborators sharing credits. Pro costs $25 a month.

What you give up, though: React-on-Vercel workflows, and a training opt-out appears only on Business. Our Lovable review covers it.

2. Bolt.new: Full Stack in Your Browser

Bolt.new, by contrast, writes front-end and back-end code and runs it in your browser, then deploys to Bolt Cloud or Netlify. Pro costs $25 a month for 10 million tokens.

What you give up, however: tokens burn faster on larger projects, and its policy documents no training opt-out. Our Bolt.new review explains.

3. Replit: Editor, Agent and Hosting

Replit, meanwhile, keeps a full editor beside its Agent, with hosting and databases. Core costs $20 a month with $20 of credits.

What you give up, though: effort-based billing, and a policy that allows training on your code. Our Replit review covers both, and our Claude vs Replit comparison weighs it against an agent.

4. Claude Code: The Top Agent Score

Among the agents, Claude Code scored 68 on the September Coding Agent Index and works in your terminal, IDE or browser on Claude’s Pro and Max plans. Pro costs about $17 a month billed yearly.

What you give up, however: no hosting and no visual preview builder. Our Claude Code review covers setup.

5. ChatGPT’s Codex: Low Cost per Task

Codex, similarly, comes with every ChatGPT plan and scored 63 on the index at a low cost per task. Plus costs $20 a month.

What you give up, though: no built-in hosting, and personal plans train by default. Our guide to ChatGPT for coding explains.

6. Cursor: A Full AI Editor

Cursor, finally, puts agents and frontier models inside a full editor, with its own cheap Composer model. Pro costs $20 a month.

What you give up, however: Cursor has no September index entry, and heavy agent use adds cost. Our Cursor review covers it.

Which Alternative for Which Need

For example, building without code points to Lovable, and full-stack prototypes in a browser point to Bolt.new. Learning with a real editor, by contrast, points to Replit. Our guide to generating UI with AI covers prompts and accessibility checks for any of them.

For existing codebases, therefore, use Claude Code or Codex, and review changes as our guide to reviewing AI-generated code explains. For React interfaces deployed to Vercel, however, staying with v0 may be best.

How We Research

This list of the best v0 alternatives draws on our reviews of each tool and on Artificial Analysis‘s Coding Agent Index, read between July and October 3, 2026.

We run no build tests of our own. Our about page explains the criteria, and our list of the best AI for coding ranks agents.
