The best Jasper alternatives, in our order, are Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Copy.ai. We rank them by their scores in our reviews, and we break ties with Arena’s creative-writing board.
Usually, people leave Jasper for three reasons, all covered in our Jasper review. For one, Pro costs $69 a seat a month, and its terms let Jasper use your inputs and outputs to develop its models. Its terms also rule out refunds, and no independent evaluation scores its output.
Best Jasper Alternatives: The Short Answer
Among the best Jasper alternatives on this list, Claude ranks first. It shares our top review score, 3.6, with ChatGPT, and its Opus 5.5 placed first on Arena’s creative-writing board of September 25, 2026. Claude Pro also costs $20 a month, and Team plans keep data out of training by default. Our Jasper vs HyperWrite comparison also weighs a brand platform against a browser helper.
ChatGPT follows with the widest feature set, while Gemini and Microsoft Copilot fit people who work in Google’s or Microsoft’s apps. For small teams, Copy.ai gives five seats of multi-model chat for $29 a month, though its training terms are unclear.

How We Ordered the Best Jasper Alternatives
This list orders the five tools by their scores in our reviews. Where scores tie, however, Arena’s creative-writing board decides, because Jasper is mainly a writing tool. Arena ranks models by blind human votes; as a result, it measures preference, not facts or grammar. Our Jasper vs Rytr comparison also weighs the priciest marketing writer against the cheapest.
In addition, we include only the writing tools we have reviewed. We leave out Perplexity as a research tool, and Grok and DeepSeek for the reasons in our list of the best AI for writing. Likewise, we do not rank Writesonic, Anyword or Grammarly yet, since we have not reviewed them.
1. Claude: Top of the Creative-Writing Board
First, Claude’s Opus 5.5 placed first on Arena’s creative-writing board of September 25, though on only 487 votes. In addition, projects hold your brand brief, files and instructions, which covers much of what Jasper’s Brand Voice does for a single writer.
Pro costs $20 a month or $200 a year. For teams, meanwhile, Team Standard costs $25 a seat monthly or $20 billed yearly, and keeps data out of training by default. Claude’s personal plans, however, train on chats unless you opt out, so check that setting. Our guide to Claude for writing covers the setup.
2. ChatGPT: The Widest Feature Set
Similarly, ChatGPT Plus costs $20 a month, and ChatGPT Business costs $25 a seat monthly or $20 billed yearly. Custom instructions hold up to 5,000 characters on Plus and higher, and projects keep each brand separate. ChatGPT Work also produces finished documents and decks, for example.
On Arena’s creative-writing board, however, the Plus model sat 14th. Personal plans also train by default, whereas Business does not. Our guide to ChatGPT for writing covers each plan.
3. Gemini: Cheapest Entry for Google Users
Google AI Plus costs $4.99 a month, and Google AI Pro costs $19.99 with 1M tokens of context. Moreover, Gems, Gemini’s custom assistants, are free and can hold a brand brief. In Gmail, Help me write drafts replies on Google AI Plus.
Meanwhile, a Gemini Flash model placed fourth on Arena’s creative-writing board. In addition, our Gemini review covers its plans and data rules.
4. Microsoft Copilot: Writing Inside Word
Microsoft 365 Personal costs $9.99 a month and brings Copilot into Word and Outlook, with models from OpenAI and Anthropic. As a result, it suits marketers who draft in Office rather than in a separate app.
However, we could not confirm the training rule for Microsoft’s updated Copilot app. Our Microsoft Copilot review explains what we know.
5. Copy.ai: Shared Chat for Small Teams
Finally, Copy.ai’s Chat plan costs $29 a month for five seats, with models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google. Brand Voice and Infobase also store your style and company facts, the closest match here to Jasper IQ.
⚠️ Copy.ai has belonged to Fullcast since October 2025, its free plan is gone, and we could not confirm its training terms from its own documents. Our Copy.ai review covers the details.

Reasons to Stay With Jasper
Still, Jasper does things general assistants do not. Jasper IQ keeps brand voice, product knowledge and audience rules in one governed place, and its marketing agents run tasks such as optimization and translation. Business adds a no-code app builder and, reviewers report, API access.
Therefore, if many writers must follow one brand across channels, Jasper’s structure may be worth its price. In that case, though, ask sales about Business terms on data use before you sign.

Which Alternative for Which Team
Among the best Jasper alternatives, start with Claude for the strongest prose, and with ChatGPT for the widest toolset. By contrast, Google users can start with Gemini at $4.99, Office users with Microsoft Copilot, and small teams on a budget with Copy.ai, too.

How We Research
Scores come from our reviews of each tool, and writing evidence from Arena’s creative-writing board of September 25, 2026. Prices come from each company’s pricing and help pages, read between September 30 and October 2, 2026.
We run no tests of our own, and our about page explains the criteria. For a yearly view of these plans, see our breakdown of AI tool costs. To protect your own drafts, see our list of the best AI tools for writers as well.

The Verdict
The best Jasper alternatives trade marketing governance for price and model quality. Claude and ChatGPT cover most writing for $20, Gemini and Copilot fit Google and Office users, and Copy.ai serves small teams cheaply.
Stay with Jasper only if your team needs its brand rules and agents. Otherwise, move one recurring task to an alternative first, and then compare the drafts.
