Jasper vs Copy.ai pits two specialist writing tools that have moved in different directions. Jasper has become a brand-governance platform for marketing teams. Its Pro plan costs $69 a seat a month. Copy.ai, now owned by Fullcast, has turned toward sales and marketing workflows. Its Chat plan costs $29 a month for five seats.
Our reviews score Copy.ai 3.0 and Jasper 2.7. Neither has an independent evaluation of its output, and both raise data questions: Jasper’s terms are clear but strict, while we could not confirm Copy.ai’s.
Jasper vs Copy.ai: The Short Answer
Choose Copy.ai if you want several frontier models in one shared workspace for little money. Five people can use OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models on Chat for $29 a month in total. Our Claude vs Copy.ai comparison also weighs price and data terms.
Choose Jasper instead if many writers must follow one governed brand and you want marketing agents built for that. Either way, read the data terms first, because neither tool lets you simply switch off training in settings, as far as we could verify.

Prices and Seats
Jasper Pro costs $69 a seat monthly or $59 billed yearly. It includes one seat, and Jasper’s pricing page says you can add up to five users; beyond that, sales quotes Business. There is no free plan, only a 7-day trial that bills automatically.
Copy.ai Chat, by contrast, costs $29 a month for five seats, or $24 a month billed yearly. However, the next step is a jump: Agents costs $249 a month, and readings of the pricing page report team tiers from $1,000. Copy.ai’s free plan is also gone.
For five people, then, Copy.ai Chat costs $29 a month against $345 for five Jasper Pro seats. Our breakdown of what AI tools cost per year compares both with general assistants.

Models and Writing Quality
Copy.ai names its providers: OpenAI, Anthropic and Google’s Gemini. As a result, you can check the underlying models on independent boards, as our list of the best AI for writing does with Arena’s creative-writing board.
Jasper, on the other hand, says it uses several large language models fine-tuned for marketing, without naming them on its pricing page. We found no independent evaluation of either tool’s own output, so quality claims rest on the vendors and their customers.
Brand Voice and Automation
Jasper’s strength, however, is governance. Jasper IQ stores Brand Voice, style rules, visual guidelines, product knowledge and audience profiles, and its agents handle tasks such as optimization, research and translation. Business also adds a no-code app builder and unlimited Jasper IQ.
Copy.ai, meanwhile, also offers Brand Voice and Infobase for style and company facts, according to Capterra’s plan listing. Its automation runs as workflows on credits, aimed at sales and marketing teams. Since the Fullcast purchase, Fullcast has also begun folding those features into its revenue platform.
Data and Training Terms
Jasper’s terms are clear. Its Terms of Service for Pro say Jasper uses inputs and outputs to develop its AI models and grant it a perpetual license to your content. Only users in the EU and UK get a documented way to object, and the terms also rule out refunds.
Copy.ai’s terms, however, remain unconfirmed. We could not read its own policy directly, and trackers disagree: one reports training with an email opt-out, another reports no training at all. ⚠️ Until that is settled, email privacy@copy.ai to opt out before you paste confidential work.
Who Owns Each
Jasper AI, Inc. is a private company that raised $125 million at a $1.5 billion valuation in 2022 and Timothy Young has run it since 2023. Copy.ai, by contrast, has belonged to Fullcast, a Salt Lake City revenue-operations company, since October 15, 2025.
Where Each One Is Weakest
Jasper is weakest on price and data terms. For example, five seats cost more than ten times Copy.ai Chat, and its Pro terms use your content to develop its models. It also hides which models it runs.
Copy.ai, for its part, is weakest on clarity and the path upward. Its training terms are unconfirmed, its free plan is gone, and automation jumps from $29 to $249 or more. Its future also depends on Fullcast’s plans. Our list of the best AI tools for writers covers safer homes for drafts.
Winners by Category
Overall, Copy.ai wins on price, with five seats for $29, and on model transparency, since it names its providers. It also suits sales workflows better, given its new owner.
Jasper, on the other hand, wins on brand governance and marketing agents, and on ease of use, where it scores 4 against 3.5 in our reviews. Data terms have no clear winner. Overall, in Jasper vs Copy.ai our scores favor Copy.ai, 3.0 against 2.7.
When to Choose Each, or Neither
Take Copy.ai when a small team wants shared, multi-model chat on a tight budget, after opting out of training by email. Take Jasper when your company has many writers on one brand and will negotiate Business terms.
For a single writer, however, neither is the obvious choice. In that case, a $20 general assistant often does more. Our comparisons of ChatGPT vs Jasper and Claude vs Jasper show. Our list of Jasper alternatives covers the rest.
